Lanarkshire is a vast area which can be found nestled in central Scotland between Glasgow and Edinburgh. Neighbouring areas include Glasgow, the Scottish Borders, Ayrshire, Stirling, Dumfries and Galloway, West Lothian and Renfrewshire making the area easily accessible from all across Scotland.
Travelling to Lanarkshire is easy thanks to the many public transport links, great motorway connections and the three international airports that are within a short drive.
With Lanarkshire located in central Scotland, the area is close to major road networks with the M8, M80, M73 and M74 running through the area.
The M74 will bring you to Lanarkshire from Glasgow and the South, and if you’re coming from the East or West, follow the M8. The A9 will bring you down to central Scotland from the North, where you can join the M80 or M90 into Lanarkshire.
Lanarkshire is well linked by rail, with over 40 train stations spanning the area.
