At six metres tall, the Roman head sculpture named Silvanus is situated close the Antonine Wall near Croy. Silvanus looks out over the Kelvin Valley from Nethercroy.
Part of Rediscovering the Antonine Wall, a project to raise awareness of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, replica distance stones were placed along the route.
Silvanus was named following a public competition, and means Roman god of the woods. It is located beside a replica Roman distance stone, found near Westerwood in Cumbernauld, created by City of Glasgow College stonemasonry students.
