Cumbernauld Museum is located within Cumbernauld Library in North Lanarkshire. The museum is free to visit and tells the story of Cumbernauld and the surrounding area, from pre-history to the Romans, and through the 19th century to the development of the new town in the 1960s.
A combination of maps, photographs, artefacts, and audio-visual material all come together to bring the area’s rich heritage to life, featuring stories relating to local industry, sport, community life, wartime and leisure.
