Lanarkshire’s museums offer a fascinating insight into the area’s rich history and heritage.

Discover the interesting story of Lanarkshire’s industrial past at Summerlee, an award-winning, free museum in Coatbridge. Built on the site of the 19th-century ironworks and a restored section of the Monklands Canal, it is home to the only heritage electric tramway, offering rides on both modern and Edwardian open-topped trams, a brilliant mine tour and Miners Row, which shows how the men and their families lived. Other highlights include an exhibition gallery, adventure park, tea room and gift shop.
